CocoPy is our attempt at creating the most natural insecticide possible.

The raw ingredient pyrethrum oil used by all manufacturers in this country is imported as a  blended product. 50% is pyrethrum oil, the other 50% can be anything else. Typically this is Isopar-M with a touch of BHT to give it longevity. We produce this same product PYNZ500  because it is industry standard.

When using a pyrethrum based product most people don’t consider that they will also be distributing that other 50% as they go about their business – so what is it that you are actually spraying? What is Isopar-M?

Isopar is short for Isoparaffin, and for those that don’t recognise it, this is kerosene.

For us here at PyrethrumNZ this toxic solvent has no place in an organic / natural product and is in direct conflict with the reasons and choices that cause people to seek out a pyrethrum based spray in the first place. 

To this end we have created what we believe to be the optimal solution and that is to blend the pyrethrum oil with natural oils. In this case coconut oil.
