About Us
What we do
We grow Pyrethrum ( Chrysanthemum Cinerariiflolium ) here in New Zealand for the purpose of extracting the naturally occurring pyrethrins Pi, PII, Ci, Cii, JI and JII for use in insect control products.
Why we do it
Because our world is drenched in synthetic chemicals. It is time for a change. We must learn to work with nature, not against her.
How we do it
Each batch of flower heads is extracted in solvent three times and then a concentrate is made via vacuum distillation into an inert phase. This inert phase can be tailored to suit the customers requirements – common phases are isopar, mono propylene glycol, coconut oil, naphtha, and vegetable oil.
Quality assured
Each batch is accurately analyzed using HPLC MS/MS and the concentration measured and adjusted to a 50% concentrate +/- 1%. An analytical certificate of purity can be issued for each batch which is clearly labelled with batch number and date of manufacture – thus ensuring lot traceability. Production records are kept for a minimum of 7 years, as per the requirements of satisfying an ISO 9001 quality system.
Who are our customers
We sell our own brand of insecticide PYNZ28 for home and industrial use and this has been very successful for us but our main focus is supplying industrial consumers with wholesale oil for use in their own manufacturing. We are also able to supplying one off formulations for specialty applications.
